Had an issue with a neighbours cat coming into my garden and attacking my pet. I built an inner fence and topped it with these and the cat hasn’t come in since. Such a relief to have the issue resolved. Easy to attach (I used a hand drill and just drilled new holes in) and very effective. We have an arbour seat with wooden beams over the top. We do not want pigeon droppings on the seat below and this looked like the right solution. The beams are narrow, so we split the three rows into single rows. It was fiddly with a strong pair of scissors, but we managed. The recommendation for adhesive was Everbuild Pinkgrip Cartridge 350ml EVBPINKGRIP. I know I should have checked, but this is actually NOT an adhesive, but a grip. Not only did it not stick the spikes (they started to fall off the next day), but it remained a foul surgical pink. We had bought the clear spikes, so it is a bit of a mess. Oh and it sticks to the spikes although not to the wood. Okay, think again. I thought about securing the now insecure spikes with small nails, but I still thought an adhesive would be a good too. I remembered my Gorilla Glue 60ml which always works and is waterproof. I have now reattached the spikes with Gorilla Glue and small nails (even where there are no preset holes, a hammer will drive nails through the plastic, you just have to work around the spikes). The result is firm, steady and much less unsightly. Do take care with Gorilla Glue and read instructions. It expands and foams, so you don't need much. The glue dries to a pale brown, is sandable and paintable.

I was hoping this would stop the cats and foxes from coming in to our garden and treating it as the communal toilet, alas, it only seems to work on cats. I just chased a fox out of our garden, and it simply jumped on the fence and sat on the spikes. So, it looks like the search is on to find something that will stop the foxes. Also, if you do buy it, make sure you have longer nails ready, since if you only have short ones, there is a risk that during installation, you will hammer in the nails *and* at the same time hit the plastic spikes, damaging the sharp end, which needs to stay sharp in order to do its job.

We have a small open substation to the back of our garden and a naughty indoor cat. Even with supervision the kitty, who should of been named Houdini, will just lunge at any opportunities to not be within our little safe haven. We got these as a last resort, she had already gone for the fence and we were concerned that with zero common sense or street smarts our cat would be electrocuted. These spikes are tough, they certainly hurt if you put pressure on them. They are made to withstand the elements and I think they are much stronger than others on the market. They won't bend or fold on contact, they feel like they are made from the same material as non shatter rulers! That said, the pack only covered 1 and a bit fence panels (8ft ish), now this could be because we fitted them full width, but we couldn't see a way to split it into halves without damaging it, the plastic isn't bendy. Our dumb kitty did jump at the fence with these strips on and luckily I was there to catch her when she realised she couldn't put her paws down. She was stuck with her back claws in the wood and her front paw fur caught in the spikes. She probably could of fallen backwards without too much damage but she's a hefty cat and Preston would of had a Richter scale warning had she of landed on the floor! This has put her off the fence in question, in fact no cats, birds, anything go near them. I've seen the odd bird try to land and quickly take off again, aborted landings must be mentioned between them because few have tried since! In terms of effectiveness these do work, I think the clear colour helps confuse animals as it's not as obvious to see or avoid. If you keep them at the width they arrive in you won't see kitties trying to straddle them as they are too wide for that, however keeping them at that size is going to cost a fortune to cover our garden fences. If anyone knows how to safely split them, let me know, I do not have access to power saws so I can't go blazing through the middle!

This cat proofing is easy to fit and has predrilled holes. It's easy to cut with snips, buy this does then require you to drill your own holes to secure the trimmed end, but if you use decent screws you can just go straight through into the fence as the plastic isn't brittle and won't snap. The spikes are certainly pointy, so it will also deter people from climbing over my fence that I've mounted it to. I have put it running along the top of the fence, but I'm also going to purchase some more to run a strip along the front of the fence, directly under the top so it stops my cats from climbing the fence all together, rather than getting to the top and realising its too sharp to go over. But that's my own personal plan and isn't a requirement. I purchased the clear spikes so they are more discreet, and they'll look fine with any colour I paint my fencing each year. Great value for money and simple to fit. You will require your own screws.

Unsere Katzen haben Freigang auf der Terrasse. Die liegt aber im ersten Stock. Auf der Terrasse befindet sich ein Windschutz aus Holz. Hier springen die Katzen immer rauf. Unsere Angst ist das sie herunterfallen. Deswegen dieser Schutz. Sollten Sie da mal Raufspringen werden sie das wohl nur einmal tun. Leider keine Andere Möglichkeit. Zusätzlicher Schutz zu unserem Katzennetz.

Habe es auf meinen Fenstersims aussen angebracht, damit meine Katze nicht mehr drauf geht. Hat sie überhaubt nicht beieindruckt, läuft drüber hinweg als wäre da gar nichts.

Le ho applicate per dissuadere la mia gatta ad oltrepassare una rete, e andare sulle tegole. Lei salta da un'altra parte, ma solo perché non ho finito di applicarle per bene. Direi che sono ottime. Le punte fanno proprio male. Costo molto contenuto e risultato magnifico.

Product serves its purpose, to keep animals off the fence. It's plastic so when under the sun and it warms up, it does warp a little but it's minimal.
