2-7-24 These may have been intended to repair broken fence posts, but I found if those fence posts are concreted in they aren't as helpful since they won't clear necessarily the concrete if the holes were dug instead of using an auger which makes the concrete base a much wider diameter. For reference I used them in my mostly decomposed granite with rocks and caliche soil, and my fence posts are 40 in tall. I ended up using them for a new fence build, which worked out great! I didn't have to any shovel work, didn't have to lug mix or pour 80 lb bags of concrete, didn't have to purchase longer posts to accommodate the amount set in the ground and was able install a post in under 15 minutes. The only problem with these is there's no way to adjust them if they end up getting driven in slightly crooked or unlevel. Although I was able to use rocks and pieces of wood as wedges between these stakes and my wooden posts to get them straight. They included 2-in long color matched wood bolts with 2 drill bits and two, 10 mm driver bits. On some of my posts which were rather weathered I used longer wood bolts. The tools I used included: a small 1-1/2" diameter garden auger that fits into a drill to create pilot holes in the ground which also worked well at dislodging any smaller stones and finding larger ones that I would need to dig out, so I ended up just moving the post hole a few inches to avoid these larger rocks in lieu of digging them out. 5 lb short handled sledge hammer, cordless drill, a cordless impact, a piece of wood to blunt the sledge from damaging the steel stake. Something interesting I figured out along the way is that you could actually use 2x4s which slide into the "c" channel of the upper portion of these stakes which you could actually use as fence posts if desired. These are robust and made of thick steel with a heavy sandy textured powder coating finish. Granted they don't feel as stable as sinking a post 2 feet in the ground set in concrete, but for my needs containing pets and small livestock they worked out great. My fence posts are only 40" tall, You may need to use two per post, one on each side for a taller fence for more stability. Something else pretty nice about these is with the help of a jack and a chain you can pluck them back out of the ground and reuse them or move them when needed. I haven't had them long enough to find out they're durability as far as rusting out, but I also live in a dryer climate Phoenix Arizona so time will tell how they fair. Other than having no way to adjust them for level or plane, you'll just have to do a few taps and adjust as you go. I have no other gripes. This set is very expensive, but it does feel and look like a heavy duty kit. However for the price I would definitely want it to be wider and provide better and sturdier support. They are okay, but not very good especially if you have 6x6 post for which they also advertise this kit. They might work better for just 4x4 posts, but I do not recommend them for 6x6 size posts.

The media could not be loaded. Please note that if your posts are set in concrete, chances are these will require an additional step. The post supports I've used in the past are straight, which are impossible to use with concrete. These however are offset by 4.75 inches. However, the 4.75 inch offset is likely still not enough to get around most concrete holes. The solution is to build out the base of your post. Find a scrap piece of 4x4 (or whatever you're using), I prefer 2-3 feet long, and affix it to the wobbly post. Then use these anchors on the new wood. It's a bit unsightly, so do it on the outside of your fence. The post supports I've used in the past were 3.5 inches wide, the same width as the post. These are 2 inches wide, and they have a channel. The channel helps with structural support, but it is a bit of a trip hazard/snag hazard, and it's unsightly. Also keep in mind they go about 18 inches deep, which is not very deep. It will give you some support, but don't try to attach any weight to it beyond the fence. One final note - these are a little tricky to get in straight. Have a level handy, and make sure both your post and your anchor are as straight as possible. Tap in slowly, check the level periodically. I find it helpful to drill or pound a pilot hole in the ground first, with an old piece of rebar or whatever you have handy.

These thickened fence post stakes repaired my mailbox that was damaged by a car running over it. Quick, Easy and a temporary fix until I can get some concrete in the hole. The L shaped part does need to be longer like around a total of 5 inches to clear the concrete, but it's an easy fix. Just attach some 2 x 4 onto the damaged post until it clears the concrete in the ground. A little overpriced though but overall they are handy to keep around to have just in case.
