We got these to deter our new kitten from going behind the sofa as she had a penchant for using it as a toilet! They worked!!! It took a while to figure out how to lay them so she couldn't navigate her paws around them, but they did exactly what we wanted. They are not sharp enough to cause injury, however do cause discomfort. As she has grown over the months she has become a bit more tolerant and can walk on them but not for long and can't really put much weight on her paws whilst on them - she has NEVER been injured by them which is exactly what we wanted. I have stood on them by accident and they are painful but didn't pierce skin or similar. They can be nailed or stuck down so would be good and durable for outside too - would even say they would be a good theft deterrent for fences etc as they are horrid to grab or bear any weight on! For cats, they definitely work, even for the most curious of mites like ours! She still tries but can't tolerate it for long at all and backs out once she begins to get weight on them! As they were not stuck down, i can easily grab them up and use elsewhere if needed - they are lightweight so if using outside they will blow away if not stuck down but they do have mounting holes. Do they work - YES!!! Would I use them elsewhere? YES!!!

These strips were wider than I required so tried to cut them ( as I have with other makes) however these are very brittle and kept snapping. The plastic is hard and brittle compared with others I have bought.
